Team Brief

ETI Inspection

The Education Training Inspectorate (ETI) visited the College at the beginning of February.

They met with a range of teams involved in the roll-out of initiatives and practices to support both operational and strategic quality improvement. This included the use of systems such as QlikView, performance reviews, e-portfolios and new or revised curriculum delivery models to better support learner success.

During their visit the Inspectors also undertook classroom observations in Castlereagh and Titanic Quarter. The inspectors concluded that they remain confident in the College’s self-evaluation and quality improvement planning processes against five indicators:

1. We provide effective curricular leadership and management to ensure good quality teaching, training and learning, to meet the needs of staff, learners and stakeholders.

2. We use appropriate self-evaluation and improvement planning processes to review provision and effect improvement of the quality of teaching, training and learning.

3. We collate, interpret and use effectively an appropriate range of relevant and reliable data to improve performance.

4. We seek and act upon the views of different user groups, to plan, manage and improve the provision, including engaging learners in internal review and self-evaluation arrangements.

5. We demonstrate the capacity to sustain continuous improvement, including effective and innovative strategies to raise standards and improve the quality of teaching, training and learning.

The formal report will be issued to the College in the coming weeks. We will share with you the identified areas of strength and for improvement in the next edition of Team Brief.
